Nose Hair Removal Safety - Safe Ways to Remove Nasal Hair

Nose hair removal safety is rapidly becoming an important issue in the area of effective and safe hair removal for men.

Modern society is now expanding the demand for physical attractiveness to include males as well as females. Thus, many men have to find ways to safely remove nasal hair.

Nose Hair Removal May Affect Health

Nasal hair works as a filter to keep unwanted particles and infectious germs from entering the body during the breathing process. If all the hairs are removed, then the individual becomes more susceptible to infections and diseases. Thus, each person must balance good health with the desire for good looks.

Nose Hair Removal options

Several nose hair removal options are available on the market. However, not all the options provide the same results. When choosing a method, the person must consider his budget, his time allowances, his dexterity, and his own pain tolerance level. Some of the known methods currently being used are:

  • Hair removal creams/Waxes – Although the cream method is painless when removing the hair, it can cause nasal irritation. Only organic creams designed for nose hair removal should be used inside the nose. It should also be remembered that anything with a strong odor can cause nausea and dizziness. Leakage of the cream through the nostrils may cause rashes or irritation upon contact with skin. Some men use a combination of a hair removal cream with a wax in order to get more hair out at one time. Others simply use the wax without the removal cream. However, this way is extremely painful and dangerous. It’s important to read the labels carefully to ensure the right type of cream and wax are used. Since it’s difficult to control the amount of hair removed by the cream or wax, too many of the nose hairs may be removed accidentally.
  • Laser hair removal – This method is one of the most expensive methods, since it should only be done by a licensed, experienced laser treatment professional. It may also take several sessions to remove all the unwanted hair. Due to the mucous membranes’ sensitivity, the laser should only be used to remove surface nasal hair. It should never be inserted inside the nostrils. The hair is permanently removed by burning the roots with intense light beams. If done improperly, laser treatments can cause severe damage.
  • Nose Hair Trimmers – Trimming is considered by many to be the best and safest way to remove nasal hair. Nose hair trimmers have protected blades that help to prevent nicking the skin. Trimming the hair doesn’t remove the needed filtering capabilities of the nasal hair, yet gets rid of the unsightly longer portions of the hair. It is a painless method. However, as with all hair removal treatments, trimming shouldn’t be done too frequently as it could cause inflammation of the nasal passages.
  • Scissors – For this method of nose hair removal, it’s advisable to only use the small, round-tipped scissors especially designed for this purpose. The scissors have to be inserted into the nasal canal. Any slips of the hand, too sharp a point or blade, or inserting the scissors too far into the nasal canal can cause severe discomfort and damage the nose. This method also requires the use of a good mirror.
  • Tweezers/ Plucking – Plucking or tweezing nose hairs out one at a time is considered to be painful and unsafe. The plucking and tweezing can cause a person’s eyes to water, as well as cause the person to sneeze. It can also leave some areas of the nose and brain vulnerable to infections, cause in-grown hairs, and create sores inside the nose.

No matter which method is utilized, it should be done in a well-lit area and never when the person is ill or has a runny nose. The nose and equipment should be thoroughly cleaned before and after the treatment is done. Most essentially, all nose hair removal safety instructions should be followed.
